The annual Chitrai Brahmotsavam of the Sri Ayyarappar-Sri Dharmasamvarthani temple at Tiruvaiyaru with the hoisting of the sacred flag amidst Vedic chants on Friday.

The 13-day festivities would go on till May 2 during which period special poojas, abishekam, procession on various vahanams and other rituals would be conducted. On Tuesday, the unique self pooja by the Lord would be held while the sacred chariot festival would be conducted on April 28.

The Sapthasthanam event when the processional deities along with those of Sri Nandiemperuman along with His consort would be taken to seven villages in the vicinity would be held on May 1.\

   

Likewise, the Chaitra Mahotsavam of the Sri Arunajadeswarar-Sri Brihan Nayaki temple at Tirupanandal near Kumbakonam commenced with the sacred flag hoisting on Friday. The famed celestial marriage of Sri Brihan Nayaki and Sri Arunajadeswarar will take place on April 26 followed by the chariot festival on April 28.
